Heather grew up in rural areas and small towns where running to the grocery store every day just wasn’t an option. The grocery list never included convenience foods and her mom and dad were frequently in the fields or at their jobs way past dinnertime. Heather, her sister, and brothers learned to cook and bake at a young age. Cookbooks were abundant and they were encouraged to be creative with what they had available. They were involved in 4-H, bringing home blue ribbons for their baked goods starting at the age of 9 – without Mom’s help!Heather - 10 Years Old

Heather’s passion for cooking and baking remained the constant as she tried many different career paths from selling windows and managing offices to Respiratory Therapy. She still cooked meals every day and baked on the weekends for family and friends.

Heather’s sister Kim shared her passion and together with their mom, they would bake 20-30 different kinds of cookies and candies to give away at Christmas. That became a small business adventure after other people caught site of the scrumptious platters of goodies and offered money for their own. Eventually the Christmas business grew and Kim built a house with two kitchens, making the basement kitchen a legal, state-inspected place to bake.

In the meantime, Heather was asked to bake and decorate a cake for a friend and took on the challenge. That first cake was not much to look at, but it pleased the customer and put a spin on Heather’s passion. She moved to Tennessee when her husband accepted a new job in the Nashville area and began taking classes from professional cake decorators.

She now bakes in a licensed facility and turns out cakes for many happy customers and large businesses in the area. Her skills have grown immensely and she is always trying something new to make it even better than before. She hopes you will love her passion for baking and decorating your cake and agree that this is exactly what she was meant to do.
