I know, I know, it’s pretty cheesy but I had to take a minute to tell you about Wedding 101 and I grabbed your attention, didn’t I?  I have recently joined the forces at Wedding 101 at the Factory in Franklin, TN to give brides another outlet to discover Covered with Icing. 

If you are unaware of Wedding 101 and their services, let me just say I think this place is SUPER cool.  It’s like a mini bridal show set up every day for your convenience.  You can walk in, get a cup of coffee or soda and check out all the displays that vendors have set up without the vendors knowing if you are saying good or bad things about them.  Perfect!

There are approximately 4 or 5 foot sections for the most part with vendors displays.  There are tablescapes, floral arrangements, invitations and paper products, wedding dresses, pictures and CAKES.  Some vendors have TVs set up to constantly stream video or portraits they have done, most have pamphlets or business cards to pick up, and they all have albums nicely displayed that you are able to pull out one by one to see pricing, past events, etc.  BRILLIANT I say!

All of the vendors pay a fee to be there-it’s advertising after all.  Wedding 101 is simply the outlet of advertisement.  They are not there to pressure you in any way, simply there to assist in setting up appointments if you would like and to answer questions and help you find what you’re looking for.  Wedding 101 does not take a percentage from any vendor that you hire, so they are not biased as to whom you should choose at all.  They are not wedding planners, so they won’t try to pressure you into hiring them when you visit…they are simply there as your “unofficial bridesmaid”.

Best of all, your trip to Wedding 101 is FREEEEEEEE! (sorry, every time I say free I think of Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories and I can’t help but add the extra Es!!)  They are open 11-7 Tuesday through Friday and from 11-5 on Saturday.  Wedding 101 is closed on Sunday and Monday, as are many wedding vendors. 

My display at Wedding 101 features 3 cakes that I designed not only to show off my mad skills (yes, another movie…I can’t help myself!)  but also to complement their decor.  The cakes are very different and vary in sizes and shapes to show a little variety as well.  If you like what you see, give me a call and we can set up a consultation RIGHT THERE!
