Allison and Kenny found me by chance at a small bridal show at Latham’s Lighthouse in Hendersonville.  They had walked around upstairs and were about to leave when they noticed a few people going downstairs.  They didn’t even realize there were vendors down there and that’s where they found me.  They tasted my samples and had set up a consultation just minutes later.

Allison and Kenny were married at the Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, TN.  Their colors were to include a variety of colors including pink, orange, and green, which were featured in the table decorations that Allison brought along to their consultation.  It was the perfect color palette for a sunny and warm wedding!

The photographer was Scoobie Photograpy who did an incredible job of capturing the couple’s most precious moments.  The food was of course prepared by the talented Chef David Cottrell
of the Hermitage Golf Course. 

I must say I’ve never met such a warm and inviting staff at the Hermitage Golf Course.  It was my first wedding cake delivery to that venue and the staff was very friendly and accomodating all the way around.  The cake needed to be kept indoors until the time of the reception because it was a very warm day, as most of them have been this summer!  This was not a problem at all for the event staff who assured me everything would be terrific.  I did notice that in the photographer’s prints that the cake was “backwards” on the table-good thing I make sure it looks great from all sides.  This just gave the lovely bride the best view as she and her new husband cut it and fed it to one another.

Allison and Kenny had chosen a three tier offset square design covered with quilted fondant with tiny edible pearls in the cross sections.  This was set off by a variety of gumpaste flowers, especially Pink Stargazer lillies, which were used along with Gerbera daisies in the floral arrangements.  The flavors were Traditional White and Extreme Citrus with lemon curd and orange cream fillings, a delicious summery flavor!  Quilting is my absolute favorite look of any cake design, especially on fondant when it can be so pronounced.

I truly enjoyed everything about this experience-the couple, the venue, the staff and the cake from beginning to end.  Kudos to Hermitage Golf Course for making weddings such a stress-free event!
