I have discovered in the past few years that I absolutely ADORE weddings!  What is not to like?  Everyone is happy, family and friends are gathered, there is an abundance of delicious food and hopefully a beautiful and decadent wedding cake and terrific music to boot!  Weddings are almost magical.  On one perfect day for one perfect couple, time stands still as they get dressed in their special costumes, transforming the normality of everyday life into a fairytale written entirely for them.

If the wedding is planned well, with wishes carried out by a knowledgeable planner or very organized family member, the bride and groom will never know some of the crazy things that happen behind the scenes.  Oh yes, at even the most perfectly executed wedding there has been a mishap or two that most guests will never know about!  That does not mean that I’ve had one (knock on wood!) but once I believe I am above any misfortune will be the time it crashes down on my head.

I typically limit my weddings to 2 per weekend but depending on logistics and size, I have been known to book 3.  That is my very limit and they must not all be on the same day.  Friday and Sunday weddings have gained in popularity, giving me a longer weekend to book cakes.  That being said, this summer has been a learning experience with traffic issues, monsoons, and other minor disasters that could possibly cut into my master plan of delivery.  I hereby declare until I have help, I will never book more than this in one weekend!

I have slacked in my duties to keep you informed of my weekend excitement.  I have a routine for everything in my life and I simply have not put blogging in its proper place yet.  Once I find that spot, I will be able to add it to a certain day’s schedule.  I think I have simply run out of days or hours in them!  I sometimes think of Men in Black when Will Smith’s character asks, “Doesn’t anyone sleep around here?” and is informed that they are on a different clock-a 37 hour day.  I think I need that to get everything done!

My best regards go out to Andrea and Jeremy, Sabrina and Tony, Tiffinea and Melvin, Jennifer and Kenneth.  Your weddings were beautiful and my heart is with each and every one of you for a blessed first year of marriage!
