I never planned to expand my business so far to the north. When I was contacted by Tammy, I changed my mind and decided it might be really fun to try something new. I took two of my best friends to the Bowling Green Bridal Show at the Knicely Conference Center in Bowling Green and we had a fabulous time!
Our booth was hopping all day with brides signing up for a chance at a $50 gift certificate and trying multiple cake and cake truffle samples. The thing I noticed the most is that the majority of the brides had wedding dates a year or even more in the future. The Bowling Green brides are planners!
I brought Orange Spice Cake with Cheesecake Buttercream, Double Mocha Cake with Cappuccino Buttercream, Traditional Vanilla with Vanilla and Chocolate Fudge Buttercreams, and Pink Champagne with Cheesecake Buttercream. I also brought Triple Chocolate and Red Velvet Cake Truffles. We went through a few hundred samples, meaning several people came back more than once. The samples proved to be a big hit at the show.
I also brought my friend Laura’s famous mini cupcake topiary and a cake truffle topiary as well, along with my show cake from the Inspired by the Dress competition in Clarksville two weeks prior. It is now one of my favorite show cakes.
Since the show, the BG Brides website has been launched by my friend Beth and it continues to be a great resource for brides and vendors in the area. Thank you Tammy for opening my eyes to the wide world of Bowling Green-it’s a great place for weddings!
Thanks to Tammy, a lot of really fun visitors and my sweet friends Laura and Gina for a terrific show!
